Schleicher ASK21 Mi – I-KCSV

The ASK21 Mi is the motorized version of the well-known ASK21 introduced by Schleicher in 2004: it is equipped with a 56-hp Wankel-type retractable engine, allowing the glider to take off independently. It is equipped with a modern electronic fuel injection system that is independently compensated according to altitude, which results in significantly lower fuel consumption than conventional two-stroke engines and brings the range to about 1.5 hours of operation with a fuel tank of only 23 liters. In addition, the dual ignition system ensures high safety and excellent engine performance.

The ASK21 Mi is equipped with a steerable front wheel and small wheels installed at the wingtips that make the pilot completely independent of any ground help; in fact, it is easy to taxi the motor glider to the runway or parking lot on one’s own power.

I-KCSV is one of only two ASK 21 Mi in Italy, and was registered in 2011 with Italian markings to be used for gliding school and Self Launching / Self Sustainer rating.
