The event was attended, in addition to aeroclub president Margherita Acquaderni by her children Gianni and Silvia Mazzuccheli, Varese mayor Attilio Fontana councillor Maria Ida Piazza, accompanied by club members a few of her closest friends and the monument’s sponsor Toto Bulgheroni di Lindt.
The often emotional inauguration for a couple who are still vividly remembered by participants, a speech given by their son and the club president and the appropriate occasion to open the club’s summer season which will start with a meeting of Caproni desighned gliders 30th May followed by a meeting of vintage gliders 30th June (currently scheduled to include an aeromodelling day in memory of Franco Campana) and which will finish with in September with the Grand Prix and airfield Open Day.
Latest events at the gliding centre include the new flight simulator and the introduction of a course for the disabled, “News which has been greeted received enthusiastically by the associations we have contacted” says Margherita Acquaderni – and we feel very privileged”.
