The project for the disabled sees a wonderful day!

The project for the disabled sees a wonderful day!

Today, Tuesday 21 June, the programme for Spazio Vita from Niguarda Hospital has achieved flights for 13 disabled people including three tetraplegics allowing them a three dimensional experience and the joy and freedom of the air.
Thanks to the installation of special controls, one of the club gliders can be flown by people with motor disabilities. This device, purchased for the school, replaces the rudder pedals, thus allowing the pilot to control the aircraft solely by the use of the hands.
In ACAO disabled people will be able to achieve their glider pilot license, following the usual steps, starting with a medical prior to joining the school. Furthermore, the theory lessons being followed by video link in an accessible location.
The Varese sky now has no barriers for the disabled who want to glide!
