The social dinner of 2019

On Saturday at the Fabbrica del Ristorante “La Madonnina” of Cantello our social dinner was held. It was rich of festivities, prize givings, magnificent pictures through which our salient moments of the whole year were re-experienced.
 
After a super rich “happy hour”, the evening proceeded with the projection of pictures to thank everyone who contributes to the amazing success of our fantastic club. Like every year the Council has decided to make a small gift, but this year the choice of a solidarity gift was made. Small panettoni of pastry in favour of the Fondazione Giacomo Ascoli. It is gratifying to share our fortune and passion with those who are less fortunate than us.
 
The new pilots, unfortunately present only 2 out of 11, were honoured.
 
We proceeded with the award ceremony of the Photography Contest Umberto Bertoli, projecting the pictures of the winners both on the ground and in flight.
The prize giving was conducted by Maria Rosa Bertoli. The first 6 photographs of the contest for each category had been reported on our traditional calendar, which was dispensed later. If anyone would like to have it, there are still some copies at the secretary.
 
Then we continued with another video about all the activities occurred during the year and a video which contained the photographs from the sky taken by our fantastic new pilot Nicola Calò, photos taken both from Cima di Mezzo of Campo dei Fiori and from the Dornier with Luca Bonini.
 
After the excellent risotto, we projected for the CLV the fun interviews done by Sandro Villa; after he had explained the spirit with which this trophy was born , he explained why he wanted to entitle it to his father, Luigi Villa who has certainly been a landmark of the CID. Just after the 2019 winner Paolo Riccardi was awarded.
 
The contestants of the different categories of the CSVVA Championship and of the Trofeo Sergio Noce were awarded, after a brief explanation given from its director Alberto Sironi.
 
At the end the Club decided to celebrate the three-time World Champion Stefano Ghiorzo, pilot with a remarkable palmares. A beautiful video, a Murano trophy delivered from the CONI representative Walter Sinapi, a cake dedicated and a magnificent toast framed this thrilling moment. Big congratulations once again to our Stefano! We hope that his victory can be an example and an incentive for many people.
