Under the incomparable guide of a great champion, Riccardo Brigliadori, the women’s team formed by Elena Fergnani, 31 years old’s pilot of Ferrara in Club class and Margherita Acquaderni, ACAO pilot in 18m class, has made an extremely important part of the history of women’s gliding, conquering the gold in Club class and the bronze in the team classification.
Thanks to Elena’s wonderful performance and Margot’s results, Italy achieves an invaluable podium: bronze medal for the Italian National Team in front of rivals who boast a long and fruitful tradition in this sport such as Germany, Poland and Czech Republic as well as the USA and the hosts. The title has gone to France followed by the United Kingdom.
