With eleven out of twelve days of competition available, the weather conditions at the Junior World Gliding Championship 2022 in Tabor, Czech Republic, were unsparing. The race routes exceeded 400 km several times and with speeds almost always above 100 km/h up to 125 km/h thanks to fantastic alignments in the Bohemian skies. Our member Alessandro Bassalti represented Italy’s ‘juniors’ in the club class (Discus b), with 45 top competitors. In his first experience, he finished the competition in the second half of the standings. Bravo Alexander, make us dream!
Another member of ours, Maurits Hebels, on the other hand, competed under the flag of the Netherlands in the standard classes (LS8), staying in the lead throughout the first part of the race. Congratulations also to Maurits, whom we will surely see on the podium several times in the coming years.
