Yesterday, May 14, the Varese City Cup ended, within which the ranking of the National 20-meter two-seater championship was included. Six days of intense flying activity, with almost summer-like weather and often marginal soaring conditions, but skillfully exploited by the race management with challenging but doable themes (as some of the most skilled pilots demonstrated). A very welcome presence of valuable riders, including from foreign clubs, made the competition more rewarding and always fun.
Instead, today saw the conclusion of the promotion championship, which was held on the two weekends only, with three valid trials. The difficult weather conditions proved to be very challenging for riders with first-time competition experience, but they performed very well, putting in good mileage with respectable average speeds. Huge congratulations to all of them, especially to the three promoters Enrico Nicoli, Tommaso Guggiari and Adolfo Pomi who move on to national categories.
